BTS fans, get your museum tickets ready. RM just unveiled his personal art collection at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in an exhibit titled“RM x SFMOMA: Between You and Me,”and it opens to the public on October 5. The collection runs through February 7, giving fans plenty of time to plan a trip.
The BTS leader started collecting art roughly eight years ago, and SFMOMA actually approached him about the project two years ago while he was completing his mandatory military service in South Korea. At Tuesday’s unveiling, he got candid about the journey, saying he leaned on art during a time when he felt adrift. He described the exhibit as a long introduction of himself, and admitted he felt embarrassed about lacking a formal art background, adding that sometimes an outsider can bring a new breeze.
The exhibit features a wide range of Korean modern and contemporary artists, and one section is titled“I Don’t Know, But I Like It.”RM also revealed that writing the 100-word labels for each artwork was the hardest part of the project. The timing could not be better either, since he rejoins BTS on the ARIRANG World Tour starting Friday, October 2, in Colombia.
Are you planning to check out the exhibit, or are you just here for the world tour? Let us know.
