Brooke Eby, the creator who built a following of millions as“limpbroozkit,”has died at 37 after a four-year battle with ALS. The ALS Network announced her passing on October 1. She was diagnosed in March 2022, at just 33 years old.
Eby’s videos didn’t look like a health battle. They looked like a person refusing to let a diagnosis shrink her life. She cracked jokes, explained the hard parts plainly, and spoke directly to the stigma around terminal illness. In that time she founded ALStogether, a community built to connect people navigating an ALS diagnosis, and this year the ALS Network honored her with its Advocate of the Year Award.
Her acceptance speech became a mission statement:“I didn’t choose ALS, but I did choose to get loud, and be irreverent about it, so don’t worry, I’m not getting quiet anytime soon.”Her platform is still online, and so is the community she started.
