Broadway Gets Its Own Coachella: Inside The Festival Coming to Upstate New York This August

A new destination festival is about to change the game for Broadway fans. The Festival, a three-day event launching August 14-16 at Hutton Brickyards in Kingston, New York, brings the immersive weekend experience of Coachella to the world of musical theater. Co-founded by former Disney executive Joshua Saltman and David Schwartz, the event will feature dozens of Broadway stars performing across multiple stages with themed shows, including an 80s Jukebox night, TikTok Ya Don’t Stop, and The Disney Songbook.

The lineup is stacked with heavy hitters. Headliners include Tony winners Audra McDonald, Kelli O’Hara, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Alex Newell, and a 30th anniversary Rent reunion featuring 13 original cast members, including Adam Pascal. Each night ends with The Big Show, a fully produced mainstage performance directed by Tony winner Jerry Mitchell. Tickets range from $450 for general admission to $1,550 for VIP passes, with limited single-day tickets starting at $191. Organizers report buyers from 41 states and multiple countries, proving the demand for theater-centric festivals is real.
