Brian Hickerson, the ex-boyfriend of the late Hayden Panettiere, was handcuffed outside a Wild Wing Cafe in Greenville, South Carolina, on Saturday night after police responded to an alleged assault call around 9:10 p.m. Video that surfaced online shows him sitting on the ground in cuffs, shouting that police leaked news when“my girlfriend died.”He was released without charges. His brother, Zach Hickerson, was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the Greenville County Detention Center.

The altercation comes less than a month after Panettiere died at a Greenville Airbnb on Aug. 16. Both Hickerson brothers were present at that house that night, and Brian has already met with the DEA as part of the investigation into who may have sold Panettiere drugs. His attorney, Sloan Ellis, has said the death investigation is ongoing and should be allowed to proceed without interference.

Greenville police have declined to comment beyond confirming the bar incident, and no charges have been filed against Brian Hickerson in connection with Saturday night. The death investigation remains active at both the local and federal level. Panettiere, known for roles in Heroes and Nashville, was 36.
