Ben and Erin Napier have been together since 2004 and married for nearly 18 years, and they just revealed that their biggest marital“struggle”is being away from each other. On the“Talk To Me: The Debra Fileta Podcast,”the“Home Town”stars said they’ve spent more than two nights apart only a handful of times in their whole relationship, and when they’re separated, they’re constantly checking in on each other.
The couple’s daughters, Helen, 8, and Mae, 5, are just as attached. Erin shared that when Ben traveled for one night, the girls acted as though he had died. Erin also admitted she’s“jealous”of how focused Ben is on other people’s needs, a jealousy many partners of chronic givers will recognize immediately.
The Napiers credit their differences and their constant togetherness for making them such a strong fit. Not every couple could pull off that level of closeness, but for them, it seems to be the whole secret. What’s your take: is constant togetherness healthy, or do you need your space?
