Gael Cameron is speaking out. The Below Deck Mediterranean star shared an emotional Instagram Reel from Sydney’s Sweethearts, an art installation featuring 56 hearts, each one representing a woman killed in Australia this year. Standing among them, Cameron said she cried knowing how close she came to being one of those hearts, and that her tears were for the families and the women who lost their lives at the hands of another.

The post comes nearly a year after her ex, Nathan Gallagher, was arrested in December 2025 and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentionally choking a person without consent and common assault. The arrest became public in August, and Gallagher told Rolling Stone he had“made mistakes.”He and Cameron share a 1-year-old son, Kayden, and both appeared on Below Deck Med Season 11. Bravo has severed ties with Gallagher, and Captain Sandy Yawn said he has stopped drinking and is getting help.

Cameron’s post also included domestic abuse hotlines and a thank-you to the installation’s artist. She wrote that the fear she feels is what allows this to keep happening, a line that’s resonating with fans far beyond reality TV. If you or someone you know needs support, resources are available. What do you think about reality stars using their platforms to address issues like this?
