Avatar: Seven Havens is officially streaming on Paramount+, and the first three episodes just landed after the release got moved up because of a leak. The series picks up 225 years after The Legend of Korra and introduces the franchise’s first twin Avatars: nine-year-old Pavi, an amputee voiced by Saheli Khan, and her long-lost twin Nisha, voiced by Aishu Devan. There’s also a pet cat-monkey named Geet, because this franchise knows exactly what it’s doing.
The twist this time is that the Avatar is widely hated. Korra gets blamed for an event called the Cataclysm that shattered the physical and spirit worlds, so our new heroes are growing up in a society that resents them. Early reviews of six episodes say the younger tone and unclear political themes make it a weaker entry than The Last Airbender or Korra, though the humor, nostalgia, and inclusive updates keep it watchable.
The show is locked in for two seasons and 26 episodes, and the fandom is already split. Some fans love the twin Avatar twist, others think it breaks the lore, and plenty are just happy to be back in this world. Are you team“give it a chance”or team“the franchise is stretched too thin”?
