Amy Yasbeck and John Ritter met at a read-through for“Problem Child”back in 1990. They married in 1999, welcomed son Noah in 1998, and built a life full of laughter. Then in September 2003, Ritter died suddenly at 54 from an aortic dissection. Twenty-three years later, Yasbeck says she still talks to him every day, checking in with him like he’s still part of the routine.

The family keeps his spirit alive in the sweetest way. Yasbeck and Ritter’s three older children, Jason, Carly, and Tyler, bond over comedy moments they know he would have loved, because Ritter was as great an audience member as he was a performer. Meanwhile, Yasbeck has poured her grief into purpose, running the John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health to raise awareness of a condition that can run in families.

And the timing of this story is something special: a“Three’s Company”50th anniversary event is set for Nov. 2 at Joe’s Pub in NYC. Fifty years later, Jack Tripper’s laugh still echoes. What’s your favorite memory of John Ritter?
