Alyssa Grace Quit the Cheesecake Factory — Now "Bloodstream" Is a Top 50 Hit

Alyssa Grace was still serving tables at the Cheesecake Factory when“Bloodstream”first entered the Hot 100. By the time it climbed to No. 45 this week, her two weeks’notice was already filed. That’s right: a 19-year-old from Torrance, California, quit her day job mid-chart-run to go all in on music.“Let’s focus on this one thing,”she told Billboard. Turns out the one thing was worth it.

The journey started on TikTok, where she teased“Bloodstream”in April, racked up over 100,000 pre-saves, and caught the eye of an A&R at independent label Artist House. One signed deal later, her debut EP“Spilling My Guts”arrived in July with tracks like“Dog With a Bone”and“Picking Petals,”and her followers swelled past the 1.2 million mark.

Now the calendar is stacked. She’s opening for Alex Warren across Australia and New Zealand before launching her first headlining run, the 14-date Wanna Be Singer tour, on Sept. 21.
