90 Day Fiance fans got a hard update this week about Jenny Slatten. The 68-year-old, who announced her ALS diagnosis in May, is“getting weaker by the day,”according to a GoFundMe update shared by her friend Serma Minincleri. Jenny is taking edaravone and riluzole, two medications designed to slow ALS down, but they come with brutal fatigue. Serma also shared that Jenny hardly speaks now because it hurts.
Since her diagnosis, Jenny has seen five neurologists and speech therapists, and she’s set to begin acupuncture soon to help with mobility and fatigue. Through all of it, her husband Sumit Singh, 38, has been her primary caregiver and the person speaking on her behalf. Sumit is also still working to secure a visa so he can accompany Jenny to America, which adds another layer of stress to an already impossible situation.
A GoFundMe launched in July is helping with treatment costs, and fans have been pouring support into the comments. Jenny and Sumit’s relationship has been one of the most enduring stories in 90 Day history, and now the community that watched them fight for each other is rallying around them.
