"9-1-1" Star Oliver Stark and Three Stunt Performers Injured on Set: What We Know

The set of ABC’s“9-1-1”has seen a string of injuries over recent months, and one of them hit the show’s own star. Oliver Stark, who plays Evan“Buck”Buckley, fractured his ankle in August during a stunt that involved swinging from a car to a ladder truck. He required surgery, but has since returned to production as Season 10 continues filming.

According to Deadline, Stark wasn’t alone. Three other stunt performers were injured in separate incidents. One needed stitches after an arm wound from jagged metal, and another suffered a broken rib and a minor compressed lung from an awkward landing within the last two weeks. The incidents reportedly do not appear to be connected, but four injuries in a matter of months has put a spotlight on stunt safety.

That spotlight is brighter because this same production lost grip Rico Priem in a 2024 car accident after a 14-hour workday. Around the same time, Kate Beckinsale sued“Canary Black”producers over injuries she sustained in 2025. Together, these moments are fueling a larger debate about protections for the people who make on-screen action look easy.

Do you think TV and film productions are doing enough to keep stunt performers safe? Sound off in the comments.
