Truth Social's Parent Company Just Lost Over $405 Million in Three Months

When a company loses more than $400 million in a single quarter, that’s the kind of number that tends to grab headlines—and rightfully so. President Trump’s Trump Media and Technology Group Corp., the parent company behind the Truth Social platform, just reported a staggering $405,900,000 net loss for the first three months of 2026, according to earnings released Friday.

Before you start picturing a complete financial meltdown, though, the company’s framing matters here. Trump Media says the vast majority of that loss—roughly $368.7 million—came from what they’re calling“non-cash losses,”primarily unrealized losses on digital assets and equity securities. They’re also factoring in $11.5 million in accreted interest and $11.8 million in stock-based compensation. In other words, a good chunk of that red ink is on paper rather than actual cash leaving the bank.

The silver lining in the earnings report? Revenue is moving in the right direction. The company posted $871,200 in net sales for Q1 2026, up 6 percent year over year. That’s modest growth, but growth nonetheless. And on the cash flow front, Trump Media says they’re actually running positive, with $17.9 million in operating cash flow and $2.2 billion in financial assets sitting on the books.

The timing of this report comes fresh off a leadership shuffle. President Trump replaced CEO Devin Nunes, the former Congressman from California, with Kevin McGurn. Whether that change signals a shift in strategy or just a reshuffling of the deck remains to be seen, but the financial pressures are clearly real.

The bottom line: Truth Social is still bleeding money on a massive scale, but the company’s defenders can point to growth metrics and non-cash accounting to argue the picture isn’t quite as dire as the headline suggests. Whether those nuances matter to investors—or to the long-term viability of the platform—is another question entirely.
