Tracee Ellis Ross has been nominated for Emmys before, but Friday night at the 53rd Daytime Emmy Awards she finally won one. Her Roku series“Solo Traveling with Tracee Ellis Ross”took Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program, landing one day after her 54th birthday. Her acceptance speech opener:“Wow, how fun is this? I’m an Emmy winner!”The show’s first season was filmed in Morocco, Mexico and Spain.

Keke Palmer also picked up a Daytime Emmy, winning Outstanding Daytime Short Form Program for“Glam Through the Ages,”which she executive produced through KeyTV Network, the platform she founded to support other creatives. Palmer already has Primetime Emmys for her Taylor family series and for hosting“Password.”

Both wins went to projects these two women helped build behind the scenes, which makes the trophies a little sweeter. So we have to ask: what’s a project you’d create if you had your own platform? Tell us in the comments.
