TikToker Says Childhood Friend Lost Her Storage Unit With Her Late Father's Belongings Inside

A TikToker known as MK is going viral after sharing that her childhood friend Ashley allegedly lost the storage unit holding her belongings, including items from her late father. MK says she moved from California to Houston in 2020 and stored her furniture and a safe with her dad’s possessions in Ashley’s unit after an abusive breakup in 2024. She paid Ashley every month through February 2026.

The problem? When MK visited the facility, staff told her the unit had been auctioned for non-payment in March 2025 and reassigned to a new renter since May 2025. Ashley reportedly claimed she may have mistakenly spent MK’s payments on a different storage unit she also rented. The Judge Judy production team reached out after finding the case through court filings, but Ashley declined to participate. The story has racked up over 73,000 likes on TikTok, and the Daily Dot notes it could not independently verify the events.

The whole situation raises big questions about trust, friendship, and what happens when irreplaceable family items are on the line.
