Thirteen Tanks and a Crash: What Police Found in Drake Von's Tesla

A weekend crash in Las Vegas has turned into a serious legal headache for adult performer Drake Von, whose real name is Dawson Bacon. What started as a traffic collision has spiraled into a DUI arrest—and police say the evidence they uncovered tells a much bigger story than just impaired driving.

Officers responding to the wreck, which happened when Von’s Tesla pulled out from a Sonic parking lot and hit a red Kia Soul, discovered something striking: thirteen nitrous oxide tanks stashed inside the vehicle. Two containers were spotted near the passenger seat in plain view, but a subsequent search of the car turned up four large nitrous tanks and seven smaller ones in the rear seat area, along with balloons and rubber bands—the kind of paraphernalia typically associated with inhalant use.

When Von met with police at the hospital, where everyone involved in the crash had been taken, officers noted his glossy eyes. He denied using alcohol, marijuana, or illegal drugs but admitted to using nitrous oxide roughly a month before the incident. A witness from the Sonic reported seeing Von slumped over the wheel and appearing intoxicated at the moment of impact. Because Von declined to voluntarily submit to a breath or blood sample, police obtained a warrant and drew his blood at the hospital, also requesting testing for inhalants.

This arrest doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Just weeks earlier, in early June, Von was arrested on serious domestic violence charges—facing two felonies for allegedly attempting to strangle his partner, plus additional charges of coercion and misdemeanor domestic battery. That case is still pending. Now, on top of that legal trouble, he’s facing a misdemeanor DUI charge with what appears to be compelling physical evidence tied to inhalant use.

The combination paints a troubling picture: a string of legal problems compressed into a short window, each one more serious than casual headlines might suggest. The nitrous oxide discovery isn’t just a detail—it’s the centerpiece of how prosecutors will likely build their case. Whether the toxicology results support impairment from that substance, and how aggressively the charges are pursued, could determine whether this becomes a cautionary tale or a wake-up call.
