Three stars were disqualified from The Challenge 42 in Wednesday’s episode, and the moment that triggered it all never made it to air. According to spoiler account GamerVev, Josh Goldstein used a racial slur during a game, Leo Dionicio repeated it, and Nelson Thomas was disqualified for damaging the kitchen while confronting Goldstein. All three are out.

Thomas has apologized for his reaction, saying he violated the show’s code of conduct, but he’s holding firm on the bigger point: having Black friends does not excuse using that word. Dionicio said he was upset by Goldstein’s“super ignorant”comment but wants to move forward. Co-star Izzy Fairthorne told Page Six the cast was in shock and that the incident was cut from the edit entirely.

Thomas says he received a DM apology from Goldstein, but he’s pushing for public accountability instead. Goldstein has not commented on the controversy. So we want to know: should the show have aired the incident, or was cutting it the right call?
