Tank Davis Back in the Crosshairs: Maryland Warrant Issued Again

Just when boxer Gervonta Davis thought he was in the clear, a Maryland judge has decided otherwise. A fresh arrest warrant was signed on April 24 for the 31-year-old fighter, this time for allegedly violating the terms of his probation—a case that traces back years but hinges on events from a Miami strip club last October.

Here’s where it gets complicated. Davis was originally placed on probation following a 2020 hit-and-run incident that injured multiple people. That probation came with rules, and according to authorities, he shattered those rules during the early morning hours of October 27, 2025, when he allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami, where she was working as a cocktail server. Rossel claimed Davis forcibly grabbed her by the neck and physically moved her through the club against her will before she managed to escape. Surveillance video appears to back up her account.

Davis was arrested for the incident in January and is now facing felony kidnapping and misdemeanor battery charges in Florida. So you’d think the warrant situation would be straightforward. In February, a Maryland judge did issue a warrant for the probation violation—but here’s the twist: Davis’s attorneys successfully argued that he’d cooperated with law enforcement and shouldn’t have been arrested. The judge agreed, and the warrant was tossed.

Fast forward less than three months, and that same judge has changed their mind. This time, the warrant stuck. Davis is now a wanted man in Maryland, and unlike the earlier legal reprieve, there’s no second chance in sight. The boxer’s attempt to stay ahead of the legal system appears to have run out of runway.
