Snoop Dogg is opening up about the most personal project of his career. During a surprise FaceTime appearance in an interview with Chaka Khan, the hip-hop icon revealed that his upcoming biopic, titled“Snoop,”recreates real moments with his late mother, Beverly Tate, and his younger brother, Bing Worthington. Tate died in 2021, and Worthington passed in 2024 at age 44.“I get to bring my mother back to life. I get to bring my brother back to life,”Snoop said, describing the experience as an emotional uplift.
The Universal Pictures film is set for theatrical release on Aug. 6, 2027. Craig Brewer directs from his rewrite of a screenplay by Joe Robert Cole, and the cast includes Jonathan Daviss as Snoop and Lauren London as Beverly Tate. The role of Bing hasn’t been announced yet. Snoop produces the film alongside Brian Grazer and Sara Ramaker, and fans are already buzzing about who might play Biggie, Tupac, Suge Knight, and Dr. Dre.
