SNL has locked in its Season 52 cast, and two rising comedians are officially joining the show. Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter will debut as featured players when the season premieres September 26 on NBC, with Jalen Brunson hosting and KATSEYE as the musical guest. Both women came up through a summer audition process that included showcases in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.
Belo-Osagie, a Queens native, is a comedian and filmmaker whose casting marks the return of a Black woman to the ensemble following Ego Nwodim’s exit after seven seasons. Reiter hails from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and brings credits including HBO’s“The Chair Company”and the popular online parody“The Hunger Games (but Better).”
They’re joining a reshaped cast room. Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang have both departed after seven seasons, and writer Martin Herlihy is also out. Kam Patterson, Jeremy Culhane, Tommy Brennan, Veronika Slowikowska, and Ben Marshall are all returning. With so many changes, Season 52 could be the show’s biggest reset in years. Which new cast member are you most excited to see on premiere night?
