Savannah Chrisley had one headline-making week. The reality TV personality announced her pregnancy and engagement on Tuesday, but by Saturday the story had shifted: her fiancé is Jason Galanis, a 56-year-old convicted fraudster who was sentenced in 2020 to more than 14 years for schemes totaling tens of millions. Even bigger surprise? The two secretly married on July 14 at a Baptist church in the Cayman Islands, meaning the engagement news came after the wedding.

Chrisley addressed the backlash with an Instagram Story posted Saturday, geotagged at Mar-a-Lago. In it, she leaned on her faith, writing that“the world may try to steal your peace, but it can never take away what God has promised you,”and adding that“hate will never have the final word.”She has also publicly defended Galanis as her protector and dismissed criticism of their age gap. Galanis’s prison sentence was commuted by President Trump in March 2025.

The whole situation has sparked conversations about fame, faith and the justice system all at once. Is she protecting her peace, or dodging fair questions? Would you have had that much grace for the critics?
