Royal biographer Andrew Lownie isn’t backing down. In an interview with The Times on Saturday, May 9, the 64-year-old author doubled down on his controversial claim that Sarah Ferguson and Sean‘Diddy’Combs shared a sexual relationship, insisting the allegation is fully sourced through former employees of both figures.
The bombshell appears in the expanded paperback edition of Lownie’s book Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, released in 2025 as part of a broader reckoning over Ferguson and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s connections to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. According to Lownie’s account, Ferguson, 66, and Diddy, 58, met at a 2002 party thrown by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate, and began a sexual relationship two years later.
The allegations go beyond a simple affair. Lownie claims Diddy bragged to colleagues about sleeping with Ferguson and once said he could not wait until Fergie’s daughters come of age. The author further contends that Ferguson introduced both Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, to Diddy during a yacht party weekend in 2006—when Eugenie was just 16 years old. Lownie also wrote that the pair met multiple times at high-end hotels across Africa and Europe, including stays at a seven-star hotel costing £50,000 per night.
These revelations land against an already turbulent backdrop. The hardcover edition of Entitled sparked fresh scandal around Ferguson and Mountbatten-Windsor’s royal ties, ultimately leading King Charles III to strip the former Duke of his titles in late 2025. Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office for allegedly passing confidential financial information to Epstein while serving as a U.K. trade envoy from 2001 to 2011. He has not entered a plea.
Meanwhile, Diddy is currently serving a 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey following his 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation for prostitution. He was acquitted on more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy after an eight-week trial.
Lownie’s willingness to stand by these claims in a major publication suggests confidence in his sourcing, even as representatives for both Ferguson and Diddy have been reached for comment but have not publicly responded.
