Rosie O’Donnell is officially heading back to Broadway. She’ll take over as The Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show for a limited two-week run from October 6th through 18th, stepping into the role currently held by Rachel Dratch. It’s her first Broadway appearance in twenty years. Her previous credits include Fiddler on the Roof in 2006, Seussical! in 2001, and Grease in 1994.
The timing feels right for multiple reasons. O’Donnell recently made waves guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live, putting her back in the spotlight in a big way. Now she’s joining a production that already has serious star power, with Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The cast also includes Lorna Courtney, Kevin McHale, Amber Gray, George Salazar, and Valentina. The show runs at Studio 54, with tickets on sale through February 28, 2027.
Rocky Horror is famous for its interactive audience culture, full of callbacks and costumes, which makes The Narrator role a perfect fit for someone with O’Donnell’s personality. If you want to catch her specifically, the window is short and seats will go fast. Are you planning to grab tickets, or would you rather see the show later in its run?
