Nsqk has never been one to follow a predictable path, and his new album“Mosca”proves it. The Monterrey artist, whose real name is Rodrigo Torres, drew inspiration from a 2024 fly infestation in his apartment and a shaman’s claim that a spell caused it. He connected the bizarre experience to Kafka’s“The Metamorphosis”and turned it into a 17-track project that pushes his sound into rock and distortion while keeping his electronic, urban, hip-hop and pop roots intact.
Released Oct. 15,“Mosca”features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Julieta Venegas, Eslabón Armado, Kevin Kaarl, Jean Dawson, Nina Minguez and Riosse. Nsqk describes the album as a metamorphosis, one where fear of not meeting expectations gets transformed into a drive for quality and daring lyrics.
The Mosca World Tour is bringing the album to life, with its U.S. leg kicking off May 11 in Chicago and a debut at Mexico City’s Estadio GNP Seguros on Jan. 23. Which track from“Mosca”are you playing on repeat? Let us know in the comments.
