Netflix has officially released the trailer for Hunting Gary Glitter, a three-part investigative docuseries directed by Sebastian Smith. Instead of rehashing old headlines, the series follows the journalists and police investigators who spent years tracking the disgraced glam rocker across Cuba, Cambodia, and Vietnam as he fled prosecution.
The project documents the full arc of the case, from his 1997 arrest and 1999 conviction for child pornography possession, through his years on the run, to his 2006 conviction in Vietnam and his 2015 UK conviction that brought a 15-year sentence. He was briefly released in 2023 before returning to prison for violating probation. Survivors appear on camera throughout the series, telling their stories in their own words.
Hunting Gary Glitter premieres October 14th, and it arrives as true-crime docuseries continue to dominate streaming, raising bigger questions about celebrity accountability and how fame can be used as a shield. Will you be watching when it drops? Tell us in the comments.
