Melissa Rycroft has been arrested again in Southlake, Texas, where police booked the former Bachelor contestant on suspicion of driving while intoxicated Sunday. The 43-year-old now faces a second-degree DWI charge, along with counts for driving without financial responsibility and causing more than $200 in vehicle damage. According to Tarrant County authorities, she’s being held at the Corrections Center in Fort Worth on $9,000 bail, which had not been posted as of Monday, and her representative has not issued a statement.

The timing is what has fans talking. In August, Rycroft pleaded guilty to a September 2025 DWI, accepting 20 months of probation and a $2,000 fine plus court fees in exchange for avoiding 280 days in jail. Sunday’s arrest came roughly two months later, and from the same police department.

Rycroft first won over viewers on Jason Mesnick’s 2009 season of The Bachelor, then turned a franchise breakup into a Dancing With the Stars run that ended with the Season 15 All-Stars Mirrorball trophy alongside Tony Dovolani. She married Tye Strickland in December 2020 and the couple share three children. What do you think: does a plea deal like probation actually change behavior, or does accountability need to look different?
