Lizzo turned Halloween 2026 into a Dolly Parton tribute, and the results are everything. The singer recreated the artwork for Parton’s 1973“Jolene”single, pairing a skin-tight yellow floral jumpsuit with a platinum blonde wig. Her Instagram video, captioned“Singing Jolene tonight 4 U @dollyparton,”also featured a lip-sync to Parton’s 1967 track“Dumb Blonde.”SZA hopped into the comments with“How is everything u do perfect,”which pretty much confirmed the internet’s collective reaction.

The costume came with real history behind it. Lizzo shared follow-up photos recreating an alternate“Jolene”cover and posing with a guitar in front of a gold plaque for Parton’s 2023 album Rockstar, where Lizzo played flute on“Stairway to Heaven.”She thanked Parton for the opportunity, writing,“In 2024 when the world turned its back on me Dolly Parton asked me to play flute on her album.”And her flute, Sasha Floot, got a shoutout too.

If one show-stopping look wasn’t enough, Lizzo also dressed as Seiko Ayase from the anime Dandadan. Dolly, anime, and a platinum wig in one Halloween weekend: that’s range. Which of Lizzo’s two costumes is your favorite? Let us know in the comments.
