Lee Boulevard Bridge Construction in Lawton: One Lane Each Way Until April 2027

Drivers who cross the East Cache Creek Bridge on Lee Boulevard every day now have a long-term detour decision to make. ODOT has started reconstruction on the bridge, which carries Lee Boulevard and HWY 7 through Lawton, and traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction. The project is expected to continue through April 2027, so this isn’t a short-term inconvenience.

As of September 18, no full closure of Lee Boulevard has been announced, and the bridge remains open to traffic. That said, the City of Lawton is advising residents to plan for delays, particularly during morning and afternoon peak hours. If your commute takes you to Lawton’s east side, NE Rogers Lane and Gore Boulevard are the recommended alternate routes. Gore Boulevard’s pedestrian bridge project over I-44 was completed in January 2025, so that corridor is ready to handle extra traffic.

Eighteen months of lane restrictions will affect thousands of daily drivers, from Fort Sill families to east-side residents and anyone heading out toward the Wichita Mountains.
