Kelly Dodd Breaks Silence on Revenge Porn Allegations

When you’re facing serious criminal charges, going on your own podcast to address them is a bold move. But that’s exactly what Kelly Dodd and her husband Rick Leventhal did on Thursday, May 28, responding to allegations that the former Real Housewives of Orange County star distributed intimate footage without consent.

The allegations are substantial. According to prosecutors, Dodd unlawfully and intentionally shared videos of a woman engaging in sexual activity and masturbating—footage they’d allegedly agreed to keep private. The alleged distribution happened on or around August 29, 2025. Beyond that, the woman claims Dodd contacted her and threatened to injure her, her family, and her property. The alleged victim says she suffered severe emotional distress when the video was released.

But here’s where it gets interesting: Dodd’s response on“The Rick and Kelly Show”was less denial and more dismissal. When asked about the initial report, Dodd said she found it hilarious and suggested that“somebody in my family”is behind the allegations being made public. Leventhal added fuel to that fire by claiming the reporting“got most of the facts wrong—like, completely wrong.”He also said they plan to share a text they received about the case with their Patreon subscribers, presumably as evidence of their side of the story.

The timing matters here. This case doesn’t exist in isolation. Dodd is also facing a battery charge for an alleged incident that occurred in June 2025 with a different person entirely. Combined with the revenge porn allegation, she’s currently facing three misdemeanor charges and possible jail time. Then there’s the voicemail incident from late last year—one where Dodd was recorded threatening her 19-year-old daughter Jolie with harsh language. She later apologized to Jolie, telling Us she’d“been trying to narrow the gap and bring Jolie back.”

For Dodd, who spent five seasons on The Real Housewives of Orange County from 2016 to 2021 before marrying journalist Rick Leventhal in October 2020, the legal troubles keep piling up. The podcast appearance suggests a strategy: get ahead of the narrative, claim foul play within the family, and promise more details when they’re“allowed”to share them. Whether that approach actually resonates with anyone watching this unfold remains to be seen.
