During the season 52 premiere of Saturday Night Live, four of the group’s six members appeared in a“Dream Academy”sketch, playing judges on a spoof of the very survival show that formed them. Their feedback to one chaotic fake contestant?“Athleticism, talent, songs, and whatever this is.”Host Jalen Brunson, better known as a New York Knicks star, went all in as demanding choreographer Dorian Fylnt, joined by SNL cast members Saidah Belo-Osagie, Sarah Sherman, and Jane Wickline.
The night didn’t stop at comedy. KATSEYE also served as the episode’s musical guest, performing“Animal”and“Hootie Frutti”from their latest EP, Wild. Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza sat out both the sketch and the performance, remaining on hiatus for mental health reasons, while the remaining members handled the SNL takeover.
