Justin Timberlake's Four-Part Apple TV Docuseries Lands in December, With Janet Jackson as a Guest

Justin Timberlake is telling his own story, in four parts, and he won’t be doing it alone. Variety reported Monday that a Timberlake tell-all docuseries is in the works at Apple TV, expected to arrive in December. The most talked-about detail? Janet Jackson is confirmed as a guest. Given their shared history, her involvement strongly suggests the series will finally revisit the 2004 Super Bowl controversy that put“wardrobe malfunction”into the cultural vocabulary. Timberlake publicly apologized to Jackson in 2021 for how differently the two were treated after the incident, and this project looks like the most direct follow-through on that yet.

The timing lands during a genuinely reflective chapter for Timberlake. In 2024 he pleaded guilty to a lesser impaired-driving charge in the Hamptons and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service, and he has since revealed he’s living with Lyme disease. Musically, his last album was 2024’s Everything I Thought It Was, and he recently teamed up with Quavo on the song House Music. A four-part format gives him room to address all of it, and Apple TV is clearly betting that fans want the full picture rather than another press cycle.

So the question is simple: is this the definitive Timberlake story, or just the version he wants to tell? And does Janet’s presence make you more likely to press play in December? Sound off in the comments.
