Jessica Lange isn’t done with Hollywood because she’s tired of it. She’s done because the industry stopped giving her anything worth saying yes to. In a new Rolling Stone interview, the 77-year-old two-time Oscar winner said she feels like she’s“coming to an end,”and her reasoning was simple: she’s still looking for“good parts,”“good films,”and the chance to be“an honest actor.”That’s a pretty low bar for a legend, and she’s still not getting it cleared.
Her last film role was Mary Tyrone in“Long Day’s Journey Into Night,”filmed back in 2022 and only released in limited US theaters last month. She mentioned a couple of possible upcoming projects, but nothing solid. And in true Jessica Lange fashion, she also recently called FX“f—ing cheap”for not providing car service on“American Horror Story”Season 3, proving she’s still very much paying attention to how actors get treated behind the scenes.
So what do you think? Should Hollywood be doing more to keep its legends working, or is this just the natural rhythm of the business? Drop your take in the comments.
