From Radio Icon to Court Order: Big Tigger's Domestic Case Takes a Turn

What was once a celebrated career spanning three decades in hip-hop radio has taken a troubling detour into the court system. On Wednesday, a Fulton County judge issued a temporary protective order that keeps Big Tigger—legal name Darian Morgan—at least 200 yards away from his wife Alicia Brown and their children, with zero contact permitted.

The allegations are serious. According to Brown’s petition, the former“Rap City”host slammed her head into a door during a May altercation, an incident severe enough to require stitches. The complaint also details a troubling pattern: pressure to stay silent, threats about losing everything if she spoke out, and later, denial of access to home security cameras and gate controls. These aren’t isolated moments of conflict—they read like a deliberate effort to isolate and control.

Brown has been granted temporary custody of the minor children and exclusive use of the family home, while Tigger must surrender his access to Ring cameras and remote gate controls. The arrest came on June 20 on aggravated assault and child cruelty charges, and Tigger posted surety bonds totaling $10,000 to secure his release. A hearing scheduled for July 13 will determine whether the temporary order becomes permanent.

In his response, Tigger denied the allegations and emphasized his 30-year track record building“relationships and community.”But court orders and criminal charges don’t care about past accomplishments. They’re about what’s alleged to have happened now—and for Alicia Brown and her children, they represent a legal shield against further harm. The question facing the courts in the coming weeks isn’t about Tigger’s legacy. It’s about whether the allegations hold up under scrutiny and what protection looks like when a family needs distance from someone they once called home.
