Cameron University is hosting its annual Military Veterans Resource Fair this Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McMahon Centennial Complex, at University Drive and D Avenue in Lawton. The event is free and open to active-duty military, veterans, dependents and other community members.
About two dozen community, state and federal organizations will be on hand to help with VA health care and education benefits, disability and compensation claims, employment services, transition assistance, counseling, college preparation and family support. A few participants, including Military OneSource and the Muskogee VA Regional Processing Office, will only be available on Wednesday, so plan that day if those services are on your list.
Both days from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Medicine Park Aquarium&Natural Sciences Center and Paws with Love Therapy Dogs will be on-site, giving families something to enjoy while they gather information. Visitor parking is available east of the McMahon Centennial Complex. If you’re bringing claims questions, gather your documentation in advance so representatives can help you move faster.
Will you be stopping by the fair this week? Let us know which benefit or service you’re hoping to learn more about.
