Flavor Flav has spent the last couple of years doing something nobody saw coming: becoming one of the most dedicated champions of women’s sports. Now he’s getting recognized for it. The Public Enemy cofounder will receive The Clio Sports Impact Award at the 2026 Clio Sports Awards on Dec. 8 at The Edison Ballroom in New York City, honoring his work raising visibility and investment in women’s teams.

The 67-year-old has backed U.S. female Olympians in water polo, bobsled and skeleton, showed up for Team USA at the 2024 and 2026 Games, and launched his SHE Weekend initiative. He’ll be honored alongside NFL legend and broadcaster Michael Strahan, who receives the Honorary Clio Sports Award, and soccer star Kelley O’Hara, who shares the Impact Award presented by AT&T. Pablo Torre hosts the ceremony.

For a Rock&Roll Hall of Famer known for a clock necklace and reality TV moments, this is a genuinely feel-good reinvention, and it lines up with the rising cultural and commercial power of women’s sports. So what do you think: which celebrity should be next to go all-in on women’s athletics?
