Ex-Con Kozlowski Throws 80th Birthday Bash at Kennedy Compound and Society Is Spiraling

Dennis Kozlowski spent over six years in prison for looting $100 million from Tyco. This week, he and his wife Kimberly are throwing a joint birthday party at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, billed as“An Evening in Camelot”for his 80th and her 60th. The event has sparked outrage across New York society, partly because Vicki Kennedy donated the property to the Edward M. Kennedy Institute in 2012 with a rule that it not be rented to private individuals.

Kimberly Kozlowski says they didn’t rent the property. According to her, the Institute approached them and they made a donation to use the lawn. Critics aren’t buying it, calling the party an image-rehabilitation move for the MAGA-connected couple. One insider described the situation as“finagled”and“a bit weird,”which feels like the politest possible way to say what everyone is thinking.

The backlash has also fueled a family feud over how the compound gets used going forward. Whatever the paperwork says, the collision of a convicted fraudster and America’s most famous political address is a lot to process.

Would you attend a party like this if you got the invite? Sound off in the comments.
