Eric Dane’s posthumous memoir,‘My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,’includes a 2004 story that’s equal parts awkward and honest. While guest-starring on‘Las Vegas,’Dane filmed a fight scene with Josh Duhamel while dealing with a herniated cervical disc. He asked Duhamel not to grab his tie. Duhamel grabbed it anyway, on multiple takes. Dane threw off his suit coat and challenged him, calling him a“p—y-ass actor.”

What makes the story land is what Dane wrote next. He calls the outburst one of his regrets and apologizes to Duhamel directly in the book:“Josh, I was wrong. I should’ve walked away. I’m sorry, dude.”The two are cool now, and Dane’s honesty about his own temper is a big part of why the memoir is getting attention.

The book also reveals Dane was misdiagnosed with multifocal motor neuropathy before his ALS diagnosis in 2024. He died in February at 53, survived by wife Rebecca Gayheart and daughters Billie, 16, and Georgia, 14. Have you ever had a workplace moment you wish you could apologize for in print?
