Ed Sheeran's Philly Show Pushed to 8 P.M. After All Four Openers Quit the Loop Tour

Ed Sheeran’s Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field just got a whole lot later. The Philadelphia show was moved from a 5:30 p.m. start to 8 p.m. after all four opening acts, Finneas, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe and Beoga, exited the Loop Tour on Tuesday in solidarity with Macklemore. Macklemore was removed from the tour following his“Free Palestine”speech and performance of“Hind’s Hall”at MetLife Stadium earlier this month.

Sheeran has said the removal was the promoter’s decision, not his, pointing out that Macklemore’s contract was with the promoter. He added that he tried to build a bridge between the two sides. Macklemore’s account is that Sheeran told him Robert Kraft barred him from Gillette Stadium, though Macklemore says he still considers Sheeran a brother. The remaining North American dates still start at 5:30 p.m., and no replacement openers have been announced, leaving ticket holders with a lot of questions.

If that weren’t enough drama, Sheeran’s cousin Jethro Sheeran publicly called him“selfish,”“malicious”and a“bad human,”accusing him of crafting a narrative to protect private gigs and brand deals.
