Get-in prices have dropped to around $42, a cut of at least 50 percent since earlier this week, and available seats jumped 54 percent between Tuesday and Friday morning. With no opening acts left on the bill, the show now starts at 8:00 p.m. ET instead of the originally scheduled early slot.
The shakeup follows Macklemore’s removal from the tour after he voiced support for Palestine during a performance. Opening acts Finneas and Aaron Rowe both withdrew in solidarity, leaving Sheeran to perform without support. Sheeran has since said the decision came from the promoter, not him, and that venues on upcoming dates threatened to pull shows if Macklemore remained on the lineup.
So now fans are left with a choice: scoop up a bargain ticket and enjoy the music, or skip it as a show of support for the artists who walked away. Either way, tonight’s show is about more than just the setlist.
