The debut single is“On Wires,”and she picked it on purpose because it sounds like nothing she has released before. She described the track as a surprising new genre for her, which sets the tone for an era built on creative risk.“Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor”rounds out the preview, and it was inspired by ABBA, so expect a dancefloor moment with some serious pop history behind it.
On top of the new music, this year marks the 10th anniversary of Emotion, and Carly also opened up about how motherhood shaped her creative process and visuals, including shooting while pregnant. From the“Call Me Maybe”days to a double album, it’s been a wild ride for her fans.
