The“Glee”reboot is officially coming to Disney+ and Hulu, and the cast news is rolling in fast. Lea Michele is confirmed to return as Rachel Berry, while Heather Morris, Chord Overstreet and Jenna Ushkowitz are all teasing comebacks. Matthew Morrison reportedly isn’t in talks yet, but says he’s hopeful. Basically, the New Directions reunion of your 2010s dreams is taking shape.
Not everyone is on the guest list, though. Becca Tobin, who played Kitty Wilde from Season 4 onward, went on her“LadyGang”podcast and got very real about the whole thing. She said the reboot news gives her, quote,“diarrhea,”because she joined three seasons in and isn’t an original cast member. In her words,“The high schooler in me is like,‘Oh my God, nobody invited me to the party.'”She’s still happy for the co-stars who are returning, but the sting is clearly real.
This is the messiest and most relatable part of reboot season, honestly. Old shows come back, nostalgia sells, and somebody always gets left off the list. Whether Kitty Wilde makes the cut is up to Ryan Murphy, but at least we got one genuinely unfiltered podcast moment out of it.
Who do you think the“Glee”reboot absolutely needs to bring back? Sound off below.
