A stroller collision at a London Underground station has landed a U.S.-based political influencer in serious legal trouble. Melissa Rein Lively, a 40-year-old PR executive and founder of America First Public Relations, has been charged with assault by beating in connection with an October 2025 incident at Bond Street station. Her co-defendant, 37-year-old German national Philipp Ostermann, faces two counts of racially aggravated public order offenses plus an additional public order charge.

According to British Transport Police, the trouble began when an unidentified woman entered the station with her sister and two young children, and her stroller made contact with Ostermann. What happened next, authorities say, escalated into a racially motivated attack. The man allegedly hurled racial abuse at the victim and her family while Lively pulled the woman’s hair. The situation deteriorated further when Ostermann produced a small bottle, identified as pepper spray, and sprayed it toward the victims—children present in the station at the time.

Lively, who describes herself on TikTok as founder of“America’s #1 anti-woke PR firm,”has built a profile as a vocal MAGA supporter and political operative. According to reports, she’s even pursued a bid to become White House Press Secretary—a position currently held by Karoline Leavitt, who is on maternity leave. The charges carry real consequences: the Crown Prosecution Service authorized BTP detectives to move forward, and both defendants face their first hearing on Tuesday, May 19, at Westminster Magistrates’Court.

As of publication, neither Lively nor Ostermann has publicly addressed the allegations, and it remains unclear whether they’ve secured legal representation. The incident underscores a troubling reality: political visibility and inflammatory rhetoric don’t offer immunity from accountability when lines are crossed into violence. What unfolds in the courtroom could have implications beyond the immediate case—sending a signal about how authorities treat high-profile figures when their actions harm ordinary people.
