Amanda Seyfried Only Takes NY or NJ Roles to Stay Near Her Kids After Split

Amanda Seyfried is making a deliberate choice about her career, and it all comes down to her kids. In a new interview with WWD, the actress revealed she only accepts projects that film in New York or New Jersey. Why? Daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas, 6, are at an age where she wants to stay close, especially after her September split from ex Thomas Sadoski.

Seyfried didn’t mince words about the trade-off. She said if a movie shoots in Spain, they’re not doing it, because the kids are at a specific age and her ex-husband is working. The rule has filtered out plenty of potential roles, but she’s clearly at peace with it. Sources say the exes have kept things civil, calling them“geniuses about co-parenting.”

What stands out most is how intentional Seyfried is about keeping her family stable. She’s been open about this being an interesting stage of life, and her quote about her ex says it all:“We’ve got each other forever, and it’s GOOD.”It’s a reminder that sometimes the smaller choice ends up being the biggest one.

Would you ever turn down a big opportunity to stay close to your family? Tell us in the comments.
