Alexa Curtin, 34, daughter of former“Real Housewives of Orange County”star Lynne Curtin, was cited for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia at a Jack in the Box in Fullerton, California, on July 21, according to reporting by Page Six. Police allegedly found an opium pipe on her, and the citation listed her as homeless.

The citation is only part of the story. Five months before, Alexa spoke candidly with the Daily Mail about her addiction, saying it began with heavy drinking after high school and escalated to pills and hard drugs, including fentanyl. In that interview she said she’s been cut off from her parents and described her public statements as“a cry for help.”She also said,“I don’t even have parents anymore.”

Alexa appeared on“RHOC”with her family in 2009 and 2010. Her mother Lynne has not publicly commented on her daughter’s situation. Alexa also previously accused a police officer of rape and received a $2.5 million settlement in that case.

When a person publicly says they need help and then becomes a headline months later, what should happen in between? Tell us what you think in the comments.
